At De Paul House, family support service takes several forms. Our core focus is achieving safe and secure housing with social work
support. In addition, we offer a service for families and individuals requiring help with keeping their rental property. This support for
tenancies includes:
Problems with neighbours
Rent arrears
Budgeting issues
Problems with Landlord - Private/ Kāinga Ora
Close to eviction
We also assist with provision of food, clothing, household goods and furniture, financial management services, and parenting classes.
Playgroup develops school readiness and confidence; all of which are essential to a child’s wellbeing and future success. Parents
and preschool children learn together through play in our spacious well-equipped centre. Playgroup has qualified and experienced staff
and a team of outstanding volunteers.
Playgroup is open Monday to Friday 9am-12pm during school term only.

WHAT OUR CLIENTS SAY
Thank you so much for all the support and help provided for us Carmel girls! We love coming here to play with the kids... You welcomed
us into this family and made it so enjoyable for us all!
Volunteers at Kids Club
I have been offered a brand new house! I would just like to say thank you for your patience, your support and guidance with everything I
have been through this difficult time. This is truly a blessing from above and also through De Paul House. I am forever grateful and
appreciate everything you have provided for me.
Solo mother of 2, Housing Support
I found the courses to be very useful as I was a beginner... I have learned new skills to be able to help me on a daily basis, from
basic computing, better money management, sewing and cooking, all while making new friends too. Thank you very much!
Students at the Community Learning Centre
THANK YOU! For your support over the last 6 weeks. Not only have we accumulated so many wonderful things for our new home, but have also
acquired priceless knowledge and wisdom passed on by the beautiful volunteers I had the pleasure of getting to know and learn from during my
stay here... You encourage women to be strong and independent and sometimes all we need as sole mothers is a little support to be able to
look past the thorns and see the beautiful roses we all are deep down. "You can't change the people around you, but you can change
yourself."
