The Warehouse Support Office , located in Northcote, has chosen De Paul House as their charity for the next 12 months. The Warehouse team members are able to provide support by helping out with fundraising activities such as BBQs, gardening, painting or special projects as a team.
So far they have helped us with:
  • Clothes, shoes, CDs and toys from the sample sale
  • Back pack samples
  • Curtains
  • Products for gift bags
  • Shelves, bed side tables and cupboards for families
  • Christmas trees and decorations
We at de Paul House value the relationship and look forward to it developing further.

Mayoral Award for Innovative and Supportive Volunteer Programme
Literacy Group Dinner We have recently received two awards which we are very proud to receive. In June we entered the North Shore Community and Social Services Awards for Excellence and were awarded a Mayoral Award for our Innovative and Supportive Volunteer Programme. It was commented that the special character of de Paul House attracted people and we provided an innovative and supportive environment for volunteers.
Community Learning Award
In August we were one of 4 New Zealand wide organisations awarded a Dynamic Community Learning Award. This award recognises fostering community based learning and creating opportunities for learning. It was noted “there is a strong commitment to education as a way for these families to break the cycle of dependency. This involves the provision of a playgroup for under 5s, a homework centre for school-age children, and a learning centre for adults to participate in the programmes and courses. Families leave de Paul House with new skills and an awareness of the importance of education for themselves and their families.”

Our Families
De Paul House is about people helping people. Reana* and their children are a good example of the many families that De Paul House has helped since it began providing emergency housing and family support in 1986.
